Resonance Cultural Arts Initiative was created out of a heartfelt belief that art transforms people and people transform communities.
As practicing artists and community-minded creatives, we saw first-hand how access to culture, expression, and mentorship can ignite confidence, healing, and purpose — especially for creatives.

youth arts workshops
Creativity that inspires confidence, imagination, and possibility.
Our Youth Arts Workshops provide safe, engaging, and culturally enriched spaces where young people can explore creativity, build new skills, and discover their voice. These workshops are open to all children and teens in Alexandria, with a focus on serving students who may not have access to formal arts education.
Each session is hands-on and rooted in connection, expression, and fun. Classes include:
Drawing & painting fundamentals
Mixed-media collage & sculpture
Digital art and creative technology
Cultural storytelling & identity-based projects
Community murals and collaborative pieces
Art & wellness activities (journaling, mindfulness, reflection)
Students leave with finished artwork, new friendships, a sense of pride, and—most importantly—the belief that their creativity has value.

Creative Storytelling & Reflection Program
Using the power of story to heal, empower, and transform.
This program blends artistic expression with personal storytelling, journaling, and guided reflection. Participants are invited to explore their experiences, family roots, cultural identity, and emotional growth through creative writing and art.
Activities include:
Visual journaling & memory mapping
Poetry, short story, and personal narrative writing
Collage-based storytelling

One of our signature events—featured in our GAEDA collaboration—is an art exhibition where part of the proceeds supports school arts programs throughout Alexandria.
